Changelog
What has shipped, by date. RoleFramework is in beta, so changes are frequent and small. What is planned next is under Questions.
- Log-in:“Sign in” is now “Log in”. Creating an account with a password now finishes on the same page, confirming the address with a 6-digit emailed code instead of a link. “Forgot password?”, and “Choose a password” on the account page, email a code too. A code works once, for 10 minutes.
- Log-in:Continue with Google where the log-in page offers it, or use your email address and a password, confirming the address by email before the first log-in. “Forgot password?” emails a reset link that works once, for an hour. Email links stay, under “Email me a log-in link instead”.
- Log-in:Passwords are kept only as a scrypt hash. A new one needs at least 12 characters, cannot be your email address or your name, and is checked against passwords from published data breaches. After 10 wrong passwords for an address within 15 minutes, that address cannot log in with a password for up to 15 minutes.
- Account:Change your password on the account page; the change logs out every other browser and sends you an email about it. Without a password, ask there for a link to set one. You now stay logged in for 90 days instead of 30, renewed while you use the app.
- Export:PDF and Word exports are ATS-friendly. Every line is real, selectable text, in reading order, column by column, and three open-source PDF parsers read the PDFs back as completely as the originals, or better. How we tested
- Export:The text of an exported PDF follows the reading order, each column whole, one after the other. In a tailored version, a footer such as “Page 1 of 2” comes after the text.
- Export:“fi” and “fl” are written in the text as two letters, even where the font draws them joined, and letter-spaced small capitals read as whole words.
- Log-in:An email link that works once and expires in one hour, with no password. Where the log-in page offers it, continue with Google instead.
- Tracker:One page instead of a board and a table. The stages sit in a row with their counts, and each application shows its steps, the version you sent and its next reminder. Move one by dragging, with the keys or with “Move to…”; each move can be undone.
- Editor:The sheet redraws as you type, and the page count and the room left follow within a second.
- Editor:Zoom the sheet with “Fit page”, “Fit width” or 100 to 200% in the zoom menu, or from 25 to 200% with ⌘/Ctrl and plus or minus, ⌘/Ctrl and the wheel, or a pinch.
- Tailoring:A draft can change the skills lines too. It reorders groups and skills and removes skills, and it adds a skill only when a fact you confirmed names it; otherwise it asks you first. The summary lists every change.
- Tailoring:Keep or leave out each change in the review. “Apply as a new version” applies only the changes you kept, and the version note lists what was left out.
- Research:Salary and interview research come from a live web search for the employer, the role and the place. Each point is numbered to its source, with the site and the date it was seen, and each panel is labelled “From sources” or “Estimate”.
- Import:A Word file (.docx) is measured against LibreOffice's rendering of it and labelled Exact, Faithful or Rebuilt, like a PDF. Calibri, Cambria, Arial and Times New Roman are set in LibreOffice's metric-compatible fonts, and fonts it lacks, such as Segoe UI or Century Gothic, in close open fonts.
- Import:A scanned resume is read with text recognition (OCR) in English and Swedish and labelled Rebuilt from a scan, with a confidence score. Check its lines against your scan.
- Import:Two-column resumes with a sidebar or a divider are read column by column, and text you edit wraps inside its own column.
- Import:More resumes made with LaTeX and Typst come back Exact or Faithful, after fixes for small caps, icons, columns and page breaks found with open-licensed sample resumes.
- Import:Arabic, Hebrew, Chinese, Japanese and Korean resumes import with every line editable, labelled Rebuilt with a note that the script is not supported yet. Arabic and Hebrew lines keep their reading order.
- Tailoring:A draft opens as a review beside the sheet, with what changed, the fact behind each change and one action, “Apply as a new version”. Nothing is overwritten.
- Tailoring:A question card can be answered in your own words under “It's more nuanced”. The draft claims no more than you wrote, and the change's receipt quotes you.
- New public site:How it works, pricing, questions, privacy and terms drafts, a press kit and this changelog, in English and Swedish.
- Public site:A demo recorded in the product, 85 seconds in English and 82 in Swedish, each without sound and captioned in its own language, and screenshots of each step.
- Importing the same file again is recognised, and imports of one file are grouped in your list.
- Import:The compare view shows every page, and our Word and LaTeX test resumes now import Faithful or Exact.
- Import:Word files (.docx), and Google Docs links shared with anyone who has the link. A Word file is labelled Rebuilt from Word source.
- Import:The photo on your resume is kept.
- Account and data:Download everything stored for you as one ZIP archive, or delete your account with all of it.
- Language:The app is in Swedish too. It starts in your browser's language, and you can switch under Language in the account menu.
- Export:A seventh check confirms that the import behind the version has every line of your file.
- Tracker:Reminders on each application, for a follow-up, a deadline, a thank-you note or interview preparation. The ones due this week are on the board.
- Editor:A Swedish or English variant of any version in one step, saved as a new version.
- Editor and compare view: a strip above the sheet shows the import result, pages, room left, changes and claims, with rulers and margin guides when you want them.
- Tailoring:LinkedIn job links are fetched without signing in, when LinkedIn allows it.
- Import:A PDF comes back as editable code, rendered and measured against the original line by line, with the result shown as Exact, Faithful or Rebuilt. Both public example resumes import Exact.
- Editor:Click any line to edit it. The page limit is drawn on the sheet with the room left, the layout can be scaled to fit, and every save becomes a version with a note.
- Export:Six checks run before every export, and the file is named after you, never after the company.
- Tailoring:Paste a posting or a link to it and get a fit rating with reasons, questions about your work, and a draft where every changed line shows its receipt. Salary and interview research are not connected yet.
- Tracker:Applications on a board or in a table, with stages and interview rounds. Mark a version as applied, import a spreadsheet as CSV, and export yours.
- Security:Each account can read only its own data, enforced by the database. Uploads are checked for type, size and page count, requests are rate-limited and model spending is capped.
- The example resumes on this site and in our tests are fully invented.
